The project
The project will support European efforts to promote an effective system to protect the rights and support victims of crime by placing them at the centre of the justice system. It will improve multidisciplinary co-operation between stakeholders to better protect the rights of victims in accessing the justice system. It will develop and promote the implementation of strategies and tools that can strengthen national and transnational co-operation.
The project activities will take place in Romania, Italy, Germany and Sweden. The target groups are ministries, government agencies, courts, law enforcement agencies, bar associations, lawyers' associations, support organisations, professionals (judges, prosecutors, lawyers, police officers, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, etc.), victims of crime and the general public.
The project comprises five work packages and its activities consist of organising
Task force meetings in Romania and Italy for 40 legal, social and health professionals from Romania, Italy, Germany and Sweden,
national trainings,
roundtable discussions in each country and
a transnational conference in Sweden for a total of 260 representatives of institutions and organisations from the legal, social and health sectors who have contact with affected persons
Furthermore, the project includes the development of a strategic roadmap model with information and guidelines to improve cooperation between stakeholders, identification, referral and support of victims, decision-making processes, case management using a victim-centred approach, common metrics for disaggregated data collection and analysis, guidelines for the safe use of digital technologies and cyberspace when sharing information about victims and cases.
At least 400 stakeholders and 100,000 social media users at EU level will be reached through the implementation of a social media campaign and further outreach activities.
